Bald Logistics - Back On Track
Two years ago, on 1 September 2018, some familiar faces in the transport business started a new venture - "Bald Logistics" - led by Marc Nijdam, Cees Butter and Marc Benning, with planning by Hareld Hoving and Freek van de Pol, and with Maryla Sikorska at the office in Poland (all ex-Butter Group).
Let's take a look back at how it all started.
It was bound to happen. In fact, it was inevitable that Bald Logistics would see the light of day on 1 September 2018. The old newcomer started with confidence and fresh courage in Dronten and Warsaw. And our enthusiasm was immediately boosted by positive reactions from the market. It was a great start for a lean and mean transport organisation.
Going for it
Trucks were contracted and the website went live. In terms of automation, we opted for the 'old' Butter system, including an extensive planning programme with an integrated tracking and tracing system for customers.
Growing according to plan
The vehicle fleet was grown successfully from five trucks on 1 October 2018 to 45 on 1 September 2019, to the current 65 combinations on 1 September 2020. The fleet is divided over 55 trucks with lightweight belt trailers and 10 trucks with lightweight aluminium agro tippers. In the coming months, the addition of a further ten belt trucks is planned to meet the growing demand for Bald Logistics' services.
The Bald Logistics crew
Four people have also been added to the crew at the office, bringing the total number to six. There are two gentlemen: Gert Buchner (planning) and Tim Gielleit (administration/invoicing). And for communication with the drivers, two experienced ladies have been taken on at the office in Poland: alongside Maryla Sikorska, there is now also Beata Czubak.
As you will understand, we are proud of ourselves at Bald Logistics. Many thanks for your trust, on behalf of the entire team. And now on to the 5th anniversary!
